Been busy with Heads Up these last two weeks.
A good time was had by all, with three outstanding shows heading to Hull via Battersea Arts Centre: The Money, Backstage in Biscuit Land and Until You Hear That Bell. Then homegrown shows in the form of LO:CUS Dance Theatre, Non Applicables Guide to the Perfect Dinner Party, Finding Bobby Bubbles, live music from Emma King, Carrie Martin and Katie Spencer brought to the festival by Rock Artist Management and a couple of events that saw ‘cultural leaders’ Mikey Martins (Freedom Festival) and Martin Green (Hull 2017) having a chat with us on stage, as well as theatremakers from the city gathering to share what they’ve got going on.
During (and before) the festival, lamp post banners mysteriously disappeared, we managed to lose our big Heads Up flags somewhere, and we broke a new banner just one event in. These things are sent to test the mettle of festival organisers but we’ve come out the other end laughing and vowing to do it all again (funding’s in place for the next three years, hurrah).
Heads Up will be back in October 2016.
